Sleep Apnea Treatment In Denver
What Is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep apnea happens when your breathing repeatedly stops and starts while you sleep. The most common type, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), occurs when the muscles in your throat relax too much, allowing soft tissues to block your airway. These breathing interruptions can happen throughout the night – sometimes hundreds of times – lowering oxygen levels and disrupting deep sleep. The result? You might wake up feeling exhausted despite a full night in bed. Beyond persistent tiredness, sleep apnea can cause morning headaches, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. If left untreated, it may increase your risk of serious health problems including high blood pressure, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes.

What Are My Sleep Apnea Treatment Options?
The three main treatment options for obstructive sleep apnea are:
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)
A machine that delivers pressurized air through a mask to keep your airway open
Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT)
Custom-fitted dental devices that reposition your jaw to maintain an open airway
Surgical Interventions
Various procedures to remove or alter tissues that cause airway obstruction
FDA-Approved Oral Appliances We Offer
Many dental sleep appliances are available, but we only provide FDA-approved devices for safety and effectiveness:

Benefits of Sleep Apnea Treatment

The Sleep Well Denver Process
From consultation to follow-up, we can get you into effective treatment in just a month
Initial Consultation & Evaluation
Step 1

Your journey to better sleep begins with a thorough consultation, which can be done virtually or in our office. We review your medical and sleep history, symptoms, and any prior sleep study results. If you haven't had a sleep study, we collaborate with sleep physicians to arrange one. We believe in a team approach to sleep apnea treatment, working closely with sleep doctors to ensure proper diagnosis before discussing your treatment options.
Custom Oral Appliance Fitting
Step 2

After you're diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (typically mild to moderate OSA), Dr. Deol will take digital impressions of your mouth and perform a comprehensive dental exam, including an assessment of your temporomandibular joint health. These precise digital scans allow us to design a custom-fit oral appliance that gently repositions your lower jaw and tongue to keep your airway open during sleep. The scans are sent to the lab before you even leave the office.
Appliance Delivery & Adjustment
Step 3

When your custom device arrives, you'll visit our office to receive it. Dr. Deol ensures a proper fit and makes any adjustments needed for maximum comfort and effectiveness. You'll receive complete education on proper use, cleaning, and what to expect from your treatment. Dr. Deol will also walk you through how to adjust the appliance over the next month. Many patients notice a decrease in snoring and feel more refreshed in the morning within just the first few nights.
Ongoing Monitoring & Follow-Ups
Step 4

About a month after receiving your device, we'll schedule an in-person or virtual follow-up appointment. Dr. Deol will check that your symptoms are improving and that the appliance is working effectively. We may coordinate with your sleep physician for a follow-up sleep study to confirm results. Our commitment to your care continues with regular check-ups every 6-12 months to ensure your appliance remains effective and comfortable for long-term treatment success.
